Bringing Smiles Nursing Home Tour 2018
This summer our music classes visited two area nursing homes, including one Alzheimer's unit. The residents were thrilled with our group of performers on piano, guitar, cello and voice. We wrapped up each event by having a group sing-along singing patriotic songs and passing out handmade cards and cookies.
Music Fans Spring Recitals 2018
Bring on the cowbells,
pom-poms and foam fingers! Our audience cheered on our piano, guitar, vocal performers in true music-fan style!
Galleria Mall Play-a-thon 2017
Our students raised over $350 to donate to the music programs at the Blind Center of Nevada and Rockin' Music Zoo, an after-school music program for low-income families.
Halloween Street Recital 2017
Our spoooooky students took their solos to the street this Halloween to entertain the trick-or-treaters! This has become a favorite yearly tradition in our studio.
Ensemble Festival October 2017
Our numbers are up! We had 18 teams and 52 students at UNLV's
Ensemble Festival. One team received an Excellent ratings and the rest earned Superiors. Great feedback from the judges on our costumes, confidence and stage presence! We hope to take our guitar and voice students as well, next year.
Nursing Home Tour 2017
July 2017 took our
Bringing Smiles Nursing Home Tour on the road to two area rest homes. Students performed solos and ensembles, played the chimes with the residents, and passed out cookies and handmade cards. Such a meaningful event for all involved!
Spring Showcase Recitals 2017
Our Spring Showcase Recitals give each student a chance to perform a solo and ensemble with their team. This year's theme was What Music Means to Me. Each student drew a picture to illustrate and we displayed their art on a big screen while they performed. Very inspiring!
Solo Festival March 2017
Junior Solo Festival, sponsored by the National Federation of Music Clubs, gives students the opportunity to perform two memorized solos for judges' feedback, certificates and trophies. This is only for our most committed students as it takes months to get their pieces polished to perfection! Our goal is to have our guitar and voice students participate in 2018.
Ensemble Festival October 2016
We took 11 teams to UNLV to compete at Ensemble Festival this year. Two teams received Excellent ratings and nine teams earned Superiors. Ensemble festival is a favorite of our students and performing on the Doc Rando stage is a thrilling opportunity!
